OUR STORY

We are located in beautiful Bedford County, PA on a 48 acre historical farm with woods and fields, and access to a pond. Life long animals lovers, we are raising our family here in the country where they can breath fresh air and learn valuable animal husbandry skills.  We have lived in the country and on farms our whole life. Growing up, we learned  how to care for animals, and knew that we wanted that same life for our kids.  We currently have horses, chickens, rabbits, a steer, and of course our dogs and Ragdoll kittens. The field pictured above is part of our 'back 40', where spend most of our evenings in the summer. Our dogs (and kids!) love to run and explore and we have frequent campfires here. We love horseback riding as well, and the dogs trail along and take part in the adventure.

In 2006, we founded Shawnee Ragdolls, registered with The International Cat Association and began raising Ragdoll kittens.  (Many of you found us through our sister site!) In 2007, we  also started raising AKC registered Shetland Sheepdogs, in all colors.  We love raising both kittens and puppies together, as this provides absolutely the best socialization. We now have over 16 years experience in the world of animal breeding and husbandry. We have always worked closely with our vet and learned how to give injections and administer fluids early on. We are no stranger to the long hours and sleepless nights that come with whelping puppies and caring for them in the tiny stage.

In 2016, we felt pulled towards Golden Retrievers, as we had owned several in our childhood and were very familiar with their loving disposition, and gentle demeanor, especially as a family pet. It has always been a priority to provide pets that do well with children and young families. When researching bloodlines and talking with other Golden breeders, it was a no-brainer that European lines were superior to American. Not only do they have beautiful white to cream coats that we LOVE, but they live an average of 2-3 years longer, and their risk of cancer is greatly reduced! We absolutely love the difference in build and confirmation also, such as the big, blocky head and stockier bodies. Read more about the breed here. We researched lines for nearly a year, and are so proud that all of our lines are not only genetically sound and clear, but also have well over 25 Champions in their pedigree. Our adults have had the complete 9 panel genetics done, and our puppies will not be affected by PRA-1, PRA-2, or Itchthyosis. They have also had all 4 of their OFA screenings done as well: heart, eyes, hips and elbows....and passed with flying colors. Layla, our first dam, was very close to having Excellent hips, which is rare!

Right now we are planning on 1-2 litters per year, however we do have a few hopeful dams coming up.  Our upcoming dams have clear blood panels, but of course they won't be able to be cleared for breeding until they are officially 2 years old and have had all of their OFA screenings done.   Currently, Majik Timelord is our Stud of choice. He has excellent bloodlines, completely clear panel and OFA's, and won multiple Championships. He was titled in Moldova, Finland and Ukraine but now resides here in the United States.  We do have our own upcoming stud, Maximus Puro, that will be cleared for breeding the Fall of 2020.

We are very proud of the environment in which our puppies are raised. We are not a kennel and we do not have employees, and spend all of the 8 weeks with our babies, caring for them devoutly. We do daily de-sensitization with all of our puppies.  We raise them in our home, in the dining room, which results in a massive amount of daily cleaning , but it is so worth it! Our children and other pets interact with the puppies daily, and we have gotten raving reviews on their temperament and personalities because of this socialization. English Cream Golden Retrievers are known to be more mellow than Americans, but we have gotten multiple comments that our puppies are more well-rounded, socially mature, and even-tempered than most. This is thanks to our children and being raised in the center of the daily hub. (Obviously, during the whelping period and shortly afterwards, we do keep mom in a quiet room away from most of the noise as she gives birth and recovers. )

Our puppies are registered with AKC limited registration, as we do NOT release breeding rights. All puppies are micro-chipped free of charge, fully vetted, current on vaccinations, completely dewormed and treated with a flea/heartworm preventative. Our health guarantee is 2 years, provided NuVet supplements are used. (Please read the entire Health Guarantee and Contract here.) Our price averages $3500, with some fluctuation based on parents clearances and titles. A 300 dollar non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a puppy and be placed on our waiting list. Our preferred deposit method is Paypal or Venmo.  Clients choose their puppy in order of deposits received,  and puppies go home at 8 weeks, per state law. We do deliver our puppies for a fee per mile, up to 4 hours one way, and work with Chelsea's Chariots for delivery to the lower 48 states. We have personally inspected Chelsea's Chariot's outfits and have approved their setup and procedure.
